[Description]: 　This production is colorless transparent or translucent hexagonal white crystalline powder.  Odorless and bitter, salty taste. Deliquesce easily in the air.  After encountering light and air, it can precipitate free iodine and than become yellow.  It becomes more yellow in acidic aqueous solution.   Easily soluble in water, significant absorption heat when dissolved.   Soluble in ethanol, acetone, methanol, ammonia and glycerin.   Slightly soluble in ethanol.  Potassium iodide solution is neutral or slightly alkaline.

[Actions]:
1.　Potassium iodide has some special uses in the field of dermatology.   Its mechanism is due to enhancing the solubility and digestion of necrotic tissue.  KI also has antifungal activity.  Clinically, it is used to treat sporotrichosis, color bud endophyte disease, persistent nodous erythema and nodular vasculitis.  Using potassium iodide, you must pay attention to its side effects.  It will cause pustules, blisters, lupus, eczema and urticaria.  It can also add acne and cause gastrointestinal symptoms, mucosal reactions.
