Structure: 

Tribulus terrestris is found in tropical climates of the world. It is found mainly in China, America, and Australia. Pedalium murex is native to China. In Chinese Tribulus terrestris is known as Chhote or Kanti Gokharu and Pedalium murex as Boda Gokharu. Medicinal uses are more or less same for both the varieties.  

Medicinal Use:

Tribulus is an herbal supplement used since the late 70s in Eastern Europe. It was purported effects include increased luteinizing hormone release and thus testosterone production, increased sperm production, increased ejaculatory volume, and increased libido. In young patients with a condition known as hypogonadism, an increase in pubic hair has also been observed. All of these effects make tribulus an interesting supplement indeed. And it has been used for centuries by the Chinese to calm the liver,treet headaches,dizziness,and premature ejaculation

Function:

1,Smooth Muscle Spasms or Colic Pains
Tribulus terrestris L. has been commonly used in folk medicine as diuretic and against colic pains. Saponin in Tribulus terrestris has caused a significant decrease on peristaltic movements of isolated sheep ureter and rabbit jejunum preparations in a dose-dependent manner (p < 0.05). According to these results it has been suggested that T. terrestris L. Saponin may be useful on some smooth muscle spasms or colic pains.

2,Muscle Strength Enhancement
For many years Bulgarian strength athletes have been taking Tribulus extract in an effort to increase the strength of their muscles. Once again, the results are due to the role of Tribulus in increasing the production of luteinizing hormone, thereby stimulating the secretion of testosterone, which improves the bodys ability to build muscle mass and strength. However, Tribulus is not a hormone supplement.
