What is gallnuts?

Gallnuts (nutgalls) is a special native product main distributes in china and Southeast Asia. It also presents in Turkey, Korea, India and Japan in small  amounts. The Annual yield of Gallnuts(nutgalls) in China almost occupies the 95% total yield of the world.

Gallnuts(nutgalls) has been acted as a herbs for more than 2000 years in China.

The tannin of Gallnuts has been used for centuries for vegetable tanning of leather, and When Gallnuts extract combined with ferrous sulfate, also used as a mordant in the preparation of writing inks.

Function

1.Intestinal disorders, such as diarrhea and dysentery, intestinal parasites, rectalprolapse, hemorrhoids;

2.Bleeding, including functional bleeding, hematochezia (blood in the stool), bleeding hemorrhoids, and topically for bleeding wounds and ulcerations; and

3.Excessive discharge, such as enuresis and frequent urination; leucorrhea; hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and night sweating; involuntary seminal emission.

 4. For night sweating due to Yin-deficiency, and spontaneous perspiration because of Qi-deficiency: 

 It is often used with drugs for consolidating the superficial resistance to stop sweating, such as Concha Ostreae, Fructus Corni, Fructus Schisandrae, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, etc. 

 5. For spermatorrhea and frequent urination due to kidney-deficiency: 

 It is used with herbs for invigorating the kidney to preserve essence, such as Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Fructus Psoraleae, Concha Ostreae, Fructus Alpiniae Oxyphyllae, etc.
