Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical will be shut down all units for 45-day maintenance on Aug 31, a source with the company said.
The company will cut daily crude throughput by 3% in August, the source added.
It would keep relatively high crude runs before the turnaround to ease feedstock inventory pressure, according to the source.
Luoyang Petrochemical planned to process over 7-mil mt of crude in 2011, as C1 reported earlier.
Located in Luoyang City, North China's He'nan Province, Luoyang Petrochemical owns 10-mil-mt/yr crude processing capacity. It is also equipped with an 800,000-mt/yr gasoil catalytic unit, an 800,000-mt/yr straight-run gasoil hydrofining unit and a 700,000-mt/yr continuous catalytic reformer. Crude feedstock of the refinery is mainly from Tahe, Zhongyuan, Tarim and Tuhe oilfield. It also refines Russia crude.
