Following a slight drop in March, US stainless steel surcharges will increase in April on some flat-rolled products while others will see a continued decline.
AK Steel, ATI Allegheny Ludlum and North American Stainless published April cold-rolled sheet surcharges Monday, with Types 304 and 316 stainless at 33.13-33.15 cents/lb and 41.90 cents/lb, respectively.
That is up from 31.92-31.95 cents/lb and 40.03-40.12 cents/lb currently for Types 304 and 316, respectively.
All three mills have set April's surcharge for Type 430 stainless at 13.23 cents/lb, down from 13.54 cents/lb for March delivery.
