Ukraine's biggest ferroalloy producer, Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP), saw ferroalloy output in January fall 9.9% year on year to 50,000 mt, UkrFa, an association of Ukrainian ferroalloy producers, said Friday.
Compared with December output rose 22%.
NFP produced 45,800 mt of silicomanganese in January, down from 54,600 mt in January 2015, but up from 37,800 mt in December. Output of ferromanganese increased to 4,200 mt from 900 mt in January 2015 and up from 3,200 mt in December.
NFP, located in Dnipropetrovsk region, is one of the biggest producers of ferromanganese and silicomanganese in the world and can produce about 1.2 million mt/year of ferroalloy.
NFP produced 601,000 mt of ferroalloy in 2015, down 10.2% from 2014.
It produced 571,200 mt of silicomanganese in 2015, down from 629,300 mt in 2014, while ferromanganese output fell to 29,800 mt from 40,100 mt in 2014.
