Ukraine's exports of ferronickel decreased 6.2% year-on-year to 97,040 metric tons in 2015, down from 103,480 mt exported in 2014, the state statistics service reported Monday.
At the same time, revenues from exports of ferronickel increased to $246.8 million, up from $229 million in 2014, the statistics service said.
Over January through December, Ukraine exported 36,100 mt of ferronickel to the Netherlands, down from 42,550 mt a year ago, but supplies to Italy increased to 33,970 mt from 16,650 mt exported in 2014.
Ukraine also supplied 10,610 mt of ferronickel to China, up from zero exported in 2014, while exports to the UK rose to 5,310 mt from 3,730 mt and supplies to the US increased to 4,080 mt from 710 mt in 2014.
Exports to South Korea dropped to 2,280 mt from 30,710 mt and supplies to Finland decreased to 3,640 mt from 8,130 mt.
In December alone Ukraine exported 6,670 mt of ferronickel, down from 6,930 mt in December 2014 and down from 7,840 mt exported in November.
Ukraine's exports of ferrotitanium fell to 2,450 mt worth $8.9 million in 2015, down from 2,760 mt worth $11.9 million exported in 2014, the statistics service said.
Ukraine supplied its ferrotitanium mostly to Germany and the Netherlands.
Ukraine's only producer of ferronickel and ferrotitanium, Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant, is capable of processing about 1.1 million mt of dry nickel ore to produce 22,000 mt of nickel in FeNi per year. The company is exporting most of the output.
