China Petroleum and Chemical Corp, or Sinopec, raised its North China toluene ex-factory prices by Yuan 200/mt or 4% from Wednesday, an industry source said.

The rise equates to $12.86/mt on an import-parity basis.

Its North China subsidiaries in Shijiazhuang are currently offering toluene at Yuan 4,800/mt or $604.33/mt on an import-parity basis, and its subsidiaries in Yanshan and Tianjin are offering toluene at Yuan 4,900/mt ($617.18/mt).

The price rise comes amid firmer demand in the North China market amid a slight domestic supply shortage.

Sinopec did not raise prices in other regions of China.
