Ukraine's Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP), the country's biggest ferroalloy smelter, increased ferroalloy output by 76.9% year on year to 94,100 mt in September from 53,200 mt produced in the same month a year ago, UkrFa, an association of Ukrainian ferroalloy producers, reported Monday.
Month on month, output was up 86.3% from 50,500 mt of ferroalloys produced in August this year.
NFP produced 88,400 mt of silicomanganese in September, up from 52,100 mt in September 2014.
The company also produced 5,700 mt of ferromanganese, up from 1,100 mt a year ago.
In January through September NFP produced 465,800 mt of ferroalloys, up 3.1% year on year from 451,800 mt produced in January-September 2014, according to UkrFa.
The company produced 445,800 mt of silicomanganese in the first nine months, up from 418,800 mt, but ferromanganese output fell to 20,000 mt from 33,000 mt in January-September 2014.
NFP, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, is capable of producing about 1.2 million mt of ferroalloy annually.
In 2014, NFP increased output of ferroalloy by 59% year on year to 669,400 mt, compared with 421,000 mt produced in 2013.
