French ports are likely to be affected by the industrial action called by the main labor unions, the CGT and CNT, on Thursday, sources said Wednesday.
"Berthing, or unberthing of ships will be delayed, and normal work will resume from 1:00pm local time [1100 GMT]," a port agent said.
"Delays and stoppages concern various port services, local refineries and chemical ports. The tugboats already announced stoppage for general meeting of crew, or officers on Thursday from 6:00am to 1:00pm local time (0400-1100 GMT)," the agent added.
The CGT is seeking the creation of new jobs in the public and private sectors, increases in wages and pensions, equal pay for men and women and a reduction in working hours.
