Dutch and German near-term gas prices were mixed Thursday as markets sought new direction after the recent Groningen-related movements.
By around midday London time, TTF day-ahead last dealt 2.5 euro cent up day on day at Eur18.45/MWh, while corresponding German GASPOOL and NetConnect were down by 17.5 euro cent and 15 euro cent respectively at Eur18.55/MWh and Eur18.65/MWh.
Both TTF and NCG spot reportedly last dealt at early session lows.
Meanwhile, TTF and GASPOOL front-month November both traded 7.5 euro cent up to retain parity at Eur18.75/MWh, while NetConnect November was up 2.5 euro cent at Eur18.90/MWh.
CustomWeather forecast temperatures in Amsterdam at 2 degrees Celsius above the 16/8 C high/low norms Thursday and Friday, while Berlin was predicted to be 1 C below the 15/6 C seasonal norms the same days.
Eclipse Energy, an analytics unit of Platts, forecast at around midday London time domestic demand in the Netherlands at 79.4 million cu m, while Germany was forecast at 203.3 million cu m.
Eclipse's short-term demand model is calculated from demand, temperature and wind speed outturns in addition to deviations between weather forecasts and these last outturns.
Dutch net storage injections were nominated at 39.6 million cu m Thursday, according to Eclipse data, while shippers injected just under a net 50 million cu m into German storage Wednesday, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe.
On the supply side, real-time flow rates into Emden-Dornum on the Dutch-German border stood at 147.7 million cu m/day at around midday London time, slightly up on Wednesday.
