China's jet imports and exports in May both climbed from the previous month, according to the data from the General Administration of Customs.
The country imported 565,786mt of jet in the month, up by 34% from April, the data showed. Meanwhile, its jet exports rose to 815,082mt, up by 62%.
A sharp rise the country's jet exports in May was mainly attributable to peaking tourism, C1 observed. In addition, it was in part because of some delays which put some exports for April under those for May, C1 believes.
China's jet imports are expected to grow as import margins widened after domestic ex-refinery prices were boosted in late May.
