China resumed naphtha exports in May, after suspension in April, showed the data from the General Administration of Customs. The country exported 45,797mt of naphtha in the month.
China resumed naphtha imports in May when demand from Japan grew and domestic output increased, C1 found. Japan showed stronger naphtha demand as more crackers were back on line while its naphtha output was not sufficient. In the meantime, Sinopec‘s naphtha production went up notably after it refined more imported condensate. The company exported roughly 25,800mt of naphtha via refineries in South China in May.
Meanwhile, China cut naphtha imports by 18%, the data indicated.
