HOUSTON (ICIS)--A US polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant shuttered by Georgia Gulf will be dismantled and rebuilt in India by producer Vivanta, but Georgia Gulf officials did not respond to immediate comment on Thursday.
The plant will be built in the state of Rajasthan and will be operational in 2012, according to Vivanta.
In 2008, Georgia Gulf closed its 500m lb (227,000 tonne)/year PVC plant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Vivanta did not disclose the cost of the project.
New Dehli-based Vivanta is a manufacturer and trading company of synthetic rubber, polymers, wax and other products.
