Sinopec Jingmen Petrochemical is expected to expand annual crude processing capacity from the current 5-mil mt to 10-mil mt during the nation’s Thirteenth Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), a refinery source told C1.
It will bring on stream a 600,000-mt/yr continuous reformer this September, when an existing 250,000-mt/yr reformer may be idled due to limited topping capacity, the source said.
In addition, a 1.8-mil-mt/yr gasoil hydrogenation unit will become operational in 2012, according to the source.
Jingmen Petrochemical, located in Central China’s Hubei Province, mainly processes domestic crude. It is equipped with 1.2-mil-mt/yr residue fluid catalytic cracker, 1.2-mil-mt/yr delayed coker, 100,000-mt/yr gasoline hydrogenation unit, 150,000-mt/yr gasoil hydrogenation unit and 250,000-mt/yr reformer.
