Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical plans to revamp 2.5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit mid-July, lasting about 49 days, a refinery source told C1.
A 1-mil-mt/yr hydrocracker will go into maintenance at the same time, said the source.
However, the maintenance still depends on market evaluation of parent company, the source added.
Maoming Petrochemical, located in Maoming City of South China’s Guangdong Province, has an annual topping capacity of 13.5-mil mt. It mainly consumes high-sulfur crude from the Middle East and supplies most oil products to South and Southwest China.
