Vietnam was estimated to produce 1.258 million mt (297,456 b/d) of crude oil in October, 3.3% lower than a year earlier, according to data Monday from the General Statistics Office.
The country was estimated to export 680,000 mt of crude oil in October, down 7.7% from October last year.
During January-October, Vietnam was estimated to produce 12.58 million mt of crude oil, down 0.5% from the same period last year.
Part of the country's crude oil output is consumed by its sole 130,000 b/d refinery at Dung Quat, with the remainder being exported.
Dung Quat also processed some imported crude oil but the import volumes varied month by month, a source with knowledge of the matter said last week.
It was estimated to export 7.52 million mt of crude oil in the first ten months of this year, up 5.4% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Vietnam was estimated to produce 723.3 million cubic meters of natural gas in October, up 8.4% from a year earlier, the GSO said.
During January-October, the country was estimated to pump 8.36 billion cubic meters of natural gas, up 3.4% year-on year.
State-owned PetroVietnam, through its gas arm PV Gas, supplies natural gas to meet over 40% of Vietnam's electricity and 70% of its fertilizer consumption.
