Chile's sole polypropylene producer Petroquim increased offer prices $30/mt for the domestic market in February, a company source said Tuesday.
The increase was attributed to healthy demand and higher raw material prices, the source said.
After the hike, Petroquim's polypropylene offers for the Chilean domestic market were heard at $1,870/mt CIF for homo raffia, injection and film, $1,970/mt CIF for co-polymer impact and random.
The Chilean polypropylene plant located in Concepcion has a nameplate capacity of 120,000 mt/year and it was reported working at full capacity without any technical problems.
A resin buyer in Peru said Chile's export PP offers for February were at $1,800/mt CFR Lima for homo raffia, $1,810/mt CFR for homo injection, $1,820/mt CFR for homo film, $1,870/mt CFR for co-polymer impact.
