Global primary aluminum output, excluding China, averaged 66,400 mt/day in August, down 400 mt/day month on month and compared with 67,200 mt/day in August 2013, International Aluminium Institute data showed Monday.
Total production in August was 2.057 million mt, down from 2.070 million mt in July and from 2.082 million mt in August 2013.
Production for the first eight months of 2014 was 16.250 million mt, at an average rate of 66,900 mt/day, compared with 16.534 million mt at an average rate of 68,000 mt/day in January-August 2013.
