Gas for day-ahead delivery fell Wednesday morning from Tuesday -- dipping slightly back below 50.00 pence/therm -- as flows resumed through the St Fergus Shell terminal.
At 11:00 am UK time, the day-ahead contract was valued at 49.80 pence/therm, down 0.50 p/th from Tuesday's market close. The contract remains above the month to date average of 47.65 p/th.
The within-day contract was still above 50.00 p/th, at 50.30 p/th, having lost 0.20 p/th from Tuesday.
Flows through the St Fergus Shell terminal in northeast Scotland -- which dropped from 22 million cubic meters to zero late Monday -- returned Tuesday evening, and were at 14 million cu m/d Wednesday morning.
The UK's gas system was still looking a little short during the morning.
By 10:00 am, National Grid had forecast demand at 167 million cu m and flows at 164 million cu m.
Medium-range storage sites Aldbrough and Holford were called on overnight Tuesday/Wednesday to balance the system at the end of the previous gas day.
The UK's Rough gas storage remains on maintenance until September 25.
Flows into Theddlethorpe remain at zero for maintenance lasting until September 23.
Norway still has ongoing offshore maintenance for most of the rest of September.
The current daily volume impact is shown by Norwegian export system operator Gassco at 59 million cu m/d.
Exports from the UK to the Continent were fairly strong at 28 million cu m/d across the UK-Belgium Interconnector pipeline, down from 32 million cu m on Tuesday but higher than Monday's 26 million cu m.
The Dutch BBL pipe was flowing 22 million cu m/d rates early Wednesday.
The UK's South Hook LNG terminal is due to receive the Al Sheenhaniya from Qatar September 23, while Dragon LNG is expected to receive the Methane Jane Elizabeth from Nigeria the same day.
Meanwhile, there have been continued reports this week of eastern European countries including Poland and Slovakia receiving slightly less gas from Russia than they had requested.
This started last week, and there were also reports of it having a small affect on some German importers, such as E.ON and VNG.
However, there has not been any significant supply disruption or price impact.
Gas for October delivery on the NBP was seen trading at 51.40 p/th during the morning, level with Tuesday's close.
The Winter 14 price fell 0.30 p/th to 60.05 p/th.
