Total Petrochemicals is in the preliminary stage of a feasibility study to expand the capacity of its polystyrene plant in Singapore, a source close to matter said Wednesday.
The plant currently has a capacity of 90,000 mt/year, and the source said that a 20% expansion in capacity was being considered.
The plant, which is capable of producing both general purpose and high impact polystyrene, is currently operating at full capacity.
Separately, the plant will be shut for two weeks in April for scheduled maintenance, Platts reported previously.
