PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical is scheduled to process 750,000mt of crude in June, with daily consumption up 19% from the previous month, a refinery source told C1.
The refinery is expected to bring on stream a 4.5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit early June, a month later than scheduled, the source revealed.
Environmental assessment for the unit is still pending approval at the moment, added the source.
The CDU was expanded from a 3.5-mil-mt/yr aged one, C1's data showed.
Liaoyang Petrochemical refined only 540,000mt of crude in May, less than the planned 660,000mt, indicated C1's data.
Liaoyang Petrochemical, which started to produce GB III gasoil from May, plans to yield 150,000mt in June, the source also said.
Liaoyang Petrochemical, located in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, has a topping capacity of 9-mil mt per year at present. It receives Russia crude mainly via the Sino-Russia Crude Pipeline. It is designed to largely produce gasoil.
