Biodiesel exports from Malaysia and Indonesia totaled 111,735 mt in August, up 59% from July, with most of the rise coming from Indonesia, according to data released Wednesday, September 3, by cargo surveyor Intertek.
Indonesia exported 91,500 mt of palm methyl ester, up from 50,500 mt in July.
Malaysian producers shipped 15,235 mt of PME from Pasir Gudang and 5,000 mt from Port Klang in August, but none from Kuantan.
Overall, Malaysia exported 20,235 mt of PME in August, just 665 mt higher month on month.
All of Indonesia's PME cargoes went to China, while Malaysia shipped all of its cargoes to the EU.
In July, PME shipments from the two countries included 57,570 mt sent to the EU, 10,000 mt to China and 2,500 mt to Asia Oceania, Intertek data showed.
