Japan's ethylene and ethylene derivatives exports in May totaled 181,100 ethylene equivalent ton, or ETT, up 17.4% from April, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said late Tuesday.
On a year-on-year basis, the total was up 1.5%.
Japan's ethylene imports fell 7.5% from a month earlier to 69,200 EET in May. From a year earlier, its imports rose 12.9%.
Of the total, Japan's styrene monomer exports rose 54.1% from a month earlier to 29,799 EET, while its ethylene exports rose 26.7% over the same period to 74,567 EET.
