Freight rates to ship coal from northern China's Qinhuangdao Port to the other Chinese ports of Zhangjiagang, Shanghai and Guangzhou slipped further in the week to Tuesday, the tenth straight week, Qinhuangdao Port said.
The freight rates from Qinhuangdao to Zhangjiagang in eastern China's Jiangsu Province for 20,000-30,000 mt capacity vessels averaged Yuan 24.60/mt ($3.97/mt) in the week ended July 1, down Yuan 0.30/mt on the week, the port said.
The rate on the Qinhuangdao-Shanghai (eastern China) route for vessels with a capacity of 40,000-50,000 mt slipped by Yuan 0.30/mt week-on-week to Yuan 20.30/mt.
The rate from Qinhuangdao to Guangzhou in southern China for 50,000-60,000 mt vessels also slipped Yuan 0.10/mt on the week to Yuan 30.0/mt.
Meanwhile, coal stocks at Qinhuangdao Port stood at 7.39 million mt on Tuesday, up from 7.26 million mt a week ago, port figures show.
