Thailand's PTT Chemical plans to restart its 400,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant at Map Ta Phut in the middle of June, after a shutdown on 20 May because of technical issues, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant is due for a turnaround in the middle of July, in line with planned maintenance at its upstream 1m tonne/year ethane cracker on 15 July-23 August, the source said.
PTT Chemical is in no hurry to offer LLPDE for June shipment as a result of the plant shutdown, the source added.
