Northeast China produced 1.25-mil mt of gasoline in April, occupying 19.11% of China's total, still higher than any other regions, indicated data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
Northwest China took the second place with 1.11-mil mt, followed by Shandong Province with 1.05-mil mt, according to the data.
Northeast and Northwest China with major refineries clustering are always top two gasoline producers in China, market sources pointed out.
Gasoline output of South China went down 8.91% year-on- year in April due to maintenance of Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical and Fujian Refining & Petrochemical.
The NBS data also indicated that Northeast China yielded 5.37-mil mt of gasoline in total in January-April, still ranking the first.
