A cargo of Terra Nova crude sold Friday to a refiner on the US East Coast at Dated Brent plus $1.35/b, traders said, its highest level since being assessed at Dated Brent plus $1.40 on September 13, 2013.
Platts did not reflect the trade in its assessment Friday because it was heard after the cutoff time of 10:30 am CDT (1530 GMT); Terra Nova was assessed at Dated Brent plus $1.23/b Friday.
Before Friday, a cargo of Terra Nova was last heard sold at Dated Brent plus $1.25/b on Monday.
Seasonal demand and a narrower Brent/WTI spread have made domestic US grades like Bakken less attractive to buyers on the Atlantic Coast, increasing demand for offshore grades.
