Coal stocks at China's four major Bohai Sea ports totaled 16.645 million mt on Sunday, up 1.05 million mt or 6.7% week on week, Qinhuangdao Port said Monday.
Coal stocks at Qinhuangdao Port rose 3.8% week on week to 5.815 million mt on Sunday; stocks at Jingtang Port jumped 12.1% to 4.07 million mt; and stocks at Caofeidian Port rose 13.4% week on week to 4.31 million mt. However, stocks at Tianjin Port slipped 4.9% week on week to 2.45 million mt on Sunday.
The number of vessels queuing at the four ports totaled 73 on Sunday, down from 87 a week ago but up from 70 on December 29, Qinhuangdao Port said.
Weaker downstream coal demand has resulted in the drop in the number of waiting vessels at the ports, the statement said.
