Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical is expected to wrap up maintenance of some units on Apr 30, about 10 days later than scheduled, a source with the refinery told C1.
The refinery will resume normal crude throughput of 33,000mt daily in May, according to the source.
As C1 reported earlier, Guangzhou Petrochemical started to revamp some units by turns from Feb 15, including 5.2-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit, 1.5-mil-mt/yr fluid catalytic cracker, 1.8-mil-mt/yr hydro-refining unit and 1-mil-mt/yr delayed coker.
Guangzhou Petrochemical, located in Guangzhou City in South China's Guangdong Province, has a topping capacity of 15.7-mil mt per year. It refines only foreign crude, most of which is from the Middle East. It is designed to produce 220,000mt of ethylene annually.
