China has cut on-grid electricity tariffs for coal-fired power plants without changing power sales prices, the National Development and Reform Commission, the country's top economic planning agency, said Tuesday in a statement posted on its website.
According to the new price policy that took effect on September 25, on-grid power prices for thermal power plants adopting higher standards of environmentally efficient technologies will be raised by 0.01-0.02 yuan (0.16-0.32 US cents) per kilowatt hour based on the new prices varying across different provinces and cities.
