Lianyungang Port Group in East China's Jiangsu Province is likely to start construction of a 300,000-DWT jetty for crude at the end of 2011, according to a source with the company.
To be located in Xuwei port area, this jetty will be 430 meters in length, said the source. Its annual design throughput capacity is at 10-mil mt for 2015, 18-mil mt for 2020, he said, and the total investment is estimated at Yuan 920.27-mil.
This jetty is supportive to Sinopec's commercial crude tank farms, as Lianyungang is one of Sinopec's choices for crude reserve bases, said an informed source. The company will deliver crude to refineries in Nanjing and the upstream of the Yangtze River through the Rizhao-Lianyungang-Yizheng pipeline, the source noted.
