PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical is slated to refine 480,000mt of crude in April, with daily consumption 7% higher than the previous month, according to a source with the refinery.
The refinery plans to restart a 1.5-mil-mt/yr residue fluid catalytic cracker in mid-April with turnaround complete, the source said, adding it might shut 2.4-mil-mt/yr delayed coker for weeklong maintenance in the second half of April.
Fushun Petrochemical, located in Fushun City of Northeast China's Liaoning Province, has three subsidiary refineries, with the No. 1 refinery closed end February. It mainly refines domestic Daqing crude and Liaohe crude. The refinery is capable of producing 180,000mt per year of ethylene. It is expected to wrap up construction of 800,000-mt/yr ethylene unit in December 2011 and bring it on stream in June 2012.
