LyondellBasell has settled its April Northwest European styrene monomer contract price at Eur1,413/metric ton ($1,837/mt) FCA Rotterdam, one of the company's customers confirmed Friday.
LyondellBasell wasn't immediately available Friday to confirm.
The April CP represents a decrease of Eur61/mt from the March price of Eur1,474/mt, which is in line with its composite cost falls.
The NWE benzene April CP was concluded at Eur992/mt or $1,267/mt CIF ARA, a reduction of Eur62/mt from March, while the ethylene April CP was fully settled at Eur1,265/mt FD NWE, down Eur60/mt from March.
This represented a composite Eur66/mt fall in raw material costs for styrene. The April CP did not fully reflect the reduction in costs because of a tighter-than-usual balance in the ARA region from a heavy, ongoing turnaround season.
The NWE styrene monomer barge contract price for April was also fully settled at Eur1,411/mt FOB ARA, down Eur64/mt from March.
