Oxea will increase its isobutanol and normal butanol as well as normal butyraldehyde prices 5 cents ($110/mt) for the United States, Canada and Mexico, effective February 15, the company said Tuesday.
Oxea will also increase isobutanol and normal butanol $110/mt in Central and South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East effective February 15, the company said in a statement.
The price increases come a day after Oxea said it would implement a 100% sales control on North and South American buyers on purchases of normal propanol, normal butanol, normal propyle acetate and normal butyl acetate effective immediately.
The sales control would be based on the average monthly consumption over the last six months or as allowed by contract and will last until further notice, the company said in a statement.
Oxea's sales control announcement followed an announcement by Dow Chemical Friday that it would implement 100% order control on oxygenated solvents, including 2-ethylhexanol, normal butanol, normal butyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, MIBK and acetone effective immediately.
