The China Coal Trade and Development Association said Wednesday it would hold the annual coal supply contracts coordination conference for 2013 in Haikou City of Hainan Province on January 15-18.
CCTDA said annual coal supply contracts between coal miners and coal consuming companies must be submitted on its website (www.cctd.com.cn) by the end of January 15.
In contrast to the 2012 annual coal contracts coordination conference, CCTDA did not give guidelines on contract coal prices or the allocation of coal railing capacity to coal supply contracts.
The 2013 annual coal supply contracts coordination conference will be a venue for coal mining and coal consuming companies that have not inked term contracts for 2013, the CCTDA announcement said.
The National Development and Reform Commission earmarked railroad wagons with a combined transportation capacity of 834.6 million mt for cross-provincial coal transportation in 2012, down from 932 million mt in 2011 and 906.5 million mt in 2010.
Separately, in a seminar in Beijing Tuesday, China National Coal Association chairman Wang Xianzheng said the CNCA would keep a close eye on the impact of imported coal on China's domestic coal market.
China imported 253.58 million mt of coal over January-November, a jump of 29.7% year-on-year, figures from China Customs showed. Of that, November imports accounted for 28.98 million mt, up 6.7% year-on-year.
Priority will also be given to the development of strategic cooperative relations between coal miners and consumers with a view to greater coal and electricity integration.
