Operating rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 41.3% Thursday, down 0.8 percentage points from one week ago, 16.3 percentage points higher than a year earlier, C1's research showed.
The on-week decline was mainly due to shutdown of a 1-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit at Huaxing Petrochemical, C1 learned from a refinery source. In addition, Lijin Petrochemical's crude throughput dropped from 3,765mt to 3,650mt per day.
As of Mar 17, a total of 23 independent refineries were in operation, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 68,000mt per day, down 1,365mt on week.
C1's research involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 60.05-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
