Turkish petrochemical producer Petkim posted Tuesday a second consecutive increase in its list prices, industry sources said.

It followed a similar announcement last week.

Low density polyethylene and high density PE film prices were reported at $1,725-1,750/mt FCA Aliaga and $1,720/mt, an increase of $20/mt for both grades. Polyvinyl Chloride and polypropylene prices were raised by $25/mt and $20/mt respectively, reported at $1,155-1,185/mt and $1,645-1,655/mt.

"Market sentiment is more positive. Europeans have withdrawn offers as prices are firmer there too," an LDPE trader said.

Sources said the uptick in sentiment was yet to reflect in offers being translated into higher prices as converters were not "necessarily" in a hurry.

Two of the three lines at Petkim's LDPE plant in Aliaga were down for maintenance, sources added.

The 120,000 mt/year tubular line is expected to start next week, while no date was reported for the restart of 100,000 mt/year autoclave line.

Petkim was not immediately available to confirm.
