Spot natural gas prices in New England fell by more than $2/MMBtu in IntercontinentalExchange trading Thursday as a nor'easter that moved into the region late Wednesday is forecast to dissipate by Friday.
Prices in New England have risen since Monday, jumping more than $1 each day in some instances. But on Thursday they were the largest decliners in the Northeast.
The Algonquin Gas Transmission city-gates shed $2.19 to average $6.30/MMBtu at 10 a.m. EST and Tennessee Gas Pipeline zone 6-200 leg fell $2.27 to average $6.41/MMBtu.
Dracut, Massachusetts, dropped $2.08 to average $6.57/MMBtu and Iroquois Gas Transmission zone 2 slipped $1.04 to average $5.56/MMBtu.
Prices across the rest of the Northeast were off from 9 cents to 53 cents as of 10 a.m. EST.
