Northern China's Shanxi Province mined 74.66 million mt of coal in September, up 1.5 million mt o,r 2.1% year on year, according to a report Friday from Beijing-based Dexin Yongming Consultation, citing figures from the Shanxi Provincial Coal Industry Bureau.
Compared with August, output was up 5.57 million mt, or 8.1%.
In the first nine months of 2012, Shanxi mined 677.5 million mt of coal, up 7.0% year on year. As such, Shanxi Province was the second-largest coal mining province in China over the period, after Inner Mongolia, which mined 742.0 million mt of coal in the first nine months of 2012, up 3.1% year on year.
China's third-largest coal mining province, Shaanxi, mined 329.70 million mt of crude coal in the first nine months of 2012, up 10.4% year on year.
