Ellba Eastern, a joint venture between Shell and BASF, ended the force majeure on supply from its 550,000 mt/year styrene monomer/propylene oxide plant in Singapore October 19, a spokeswoman for BASF said late Friday.
BASF and Shell were informed of the force majeure on supplies on October 7.
Term customers of BASF and Shell surveyed last week said they had not been affected by the force majeure.
Market sources said earlier that the plant had been shut because of problems related to propylene oxide production and that the outage was initially expected to last for about one week.
Ellba, Shell and BASF did not comment on the cause of the force majeure and whether the plant was shut.
Ellba last announced a force majeure on supplies from the Singapore plant over July-August this year. That force majeure lasted from July 29 to August 4, a total of six days.
