China exported 530,000 mt of coal in September, down 18.5% month on month, and a 56.2% plunge year on year, preliminary data released Saturday by the General Administration of Customs showed.
In the first nine months of 2012, China exported 7.45 million mt of coal, down 38.6% year on year. There was no breakdown for thermal coal and coking coal exports.
China exported 110,000 mt of coke in September, up 120% from 50,000 mt in August, but down 21.4% year on year. Over January-September, China exported 860,000 mt of coke, down 71.4% year on year.
China's customs department has yet to release import figures for September.
