Thailand's Bangchak Petroleum plans to invest in building a palm oil crushing facility in Rangsit, a local media report said Monday quoting the company's president Anusorn Sangnimnuan.
The palm oil crushing facility will complement the company's planned biodiesel capacity.
The company currently operates a 300,000 liters/day biodiesel plant in Bang Pa-in in Ayutthaya thorough its subsidiary Bangchak Biofuel.
Platts reported earlier that the company plans to start up a new 300,000 liters/day biodiesel plant, also in Ayutthaya.
Bangchak is currently waiting for internal approvals for the new plant -- expected by the end of the year -- which will take its total biodiesel capacity to 600,000 liters/day.
The plants will use palm oil from its captive estates as feedstock.
