ExxonMobil nominated its October US butadiene contract price at a rollover from its September US butadiene contract price at 90 cents/lb ($1,984/mt), sources said Friday.
Producer confirmation was unavailable immediately.
Sources expected the October US butadiene contract price to roll over from September as supply and demand has been characterized as in balance.
US spot butadiene prices were assessed at 78 cents/lb ($1,720/mt) CIF US Gulf Coast September 14 and heard in the high 70s to 80 cents/lb CIF USG Friday.
The other three producers -- TPC Group, LyondellBasell and Shell Chemical -- had not nominated yet, sources said.
The September US butadiene contract price settled down 6-7 cents ($132-$154/mt) in an 83-90 cents/lb ($1,830-$1,984/mt) split settlement, with TPC Group, LyondellBasell and Shell Chemical at 83 cents/lb and ExxonMobil at 90 cents/lb, sources said.
Producer confirmation on the September settlement was unavailable.
