Nan Ya Plastics Corp., America will increase its US polyethylene terephthalate resin selling price by 6 cents/lb, effective October 1, according to a letter sent to clients Tuesday and obtained by Platts.
The New Jersey-headquartered company -- which has facilities in Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas -- said the price increase was due to a continued rise in raw material costs as a result of higher energy prices and due to tight a supply situation.
On September 12, Platts assessed the PET bottle grade price at $1,565-1,587/mt DDP US West Coast.
