A combined 247,000mt of gasoline and gasoil were transported southwards from Tianjin port in North China in February, up 73,000mt or 42% from the previous month, according to a port source.
The shipments include 80,000mt of gasoline and 167,000mt of gasoil, the source revealed, adding all gasoil would be from Sinopec, sharply up 46% from the previous month.
Sinopec hiked gasoil supply to southern China probably due to maintenance of subsidiary Maoming Petrochemical, the source reckoned.
In the meantime, about 26,400mt of oil products are estimated to have arrived in Tianjin port, plunging 63% on month, the source also said.
The arrivals of kerosene dropped notably as demand for gasoil with pour point below zero declined amid warming weather.
Kerosene could be used to blend gasoil with pour point below zero.
