China's commercial inventories of oil products in 13 grain-producing provinces held by state companies Sinopec and China National Petroleum Corp. totaled 4 million mt as of August 8, the National Development and Reform Commission said Wednesday.
This is down from the 4.35 million mt the commission reported on July 27. Stocks of gasoil, which is widely used in agriculture, were 2.37 million mt last week, down from 2.66 million mt in late July.
The NDRC did not provide year-ago comparisons.
The provinces are Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Sichuan.
Hebei and Jiangsu provinces along the eastern coast had the highest stocks, each holding 445,900 mt of oil products, with gasoil accounting for over half the total.
