Malaysia exported 60,131 mt of natural rubber in June, down 4% from 62,815 mt in May and 12% lower from 68,591 mt in June last year, provisional data released Monday by the country's statistics department showed.
The leading destination of the exports was China, which accounted for 34.7%, or 20,841 mt, of the total June exports. The June shipments to China were 15.9% lower from 24,801 mt in May.
The bulk of the exports comprised Standard Malaysian Rubber, at about 95%, of which tire grade SMR 20 accounted for 30,590 mt, or 53% of all the SMR grades.
The country's natural rubber production stood at 85,866 mt in June, up 23%, or 15,993 mt, from 69,873 mt in May and 0.5% higher from 85,386 mt in June last year.
Domestic natural rubber stocks were 116,111 mt at the end of June, up 4.9% from 110,587 mt at end May, but down 4% when compared with 121,932 in June 2011.
