Operating rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 46.4% Thursday, unchanged from one week ago, 20.4 percentage points higher than a year earlier, C1's research showed.
Changyi Petrochemical restarted a 5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit while shutting a 1-mil-mt/yr CDU for maintenance during the past week, when it enhanced daily crude throughput to 10,000mt. China Offshore Bitumen cut its daily throughput from 9,000mt to 5,000mt due to maintenance on a 1-mil-mt/yr CDU. Jincheng Petrochemical lowered its throughput from 8,000mt to 5,000mt per day. Other refineries mainly kept run rates unchanged.
As of Mar 3, a total of 27 independent refineries were in operation, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 76,000mt per day, steady on week.
C1's survey involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 60.05-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
