China's Panjin Ethylene Industry Corp., or PEIC, increased its ex-works offer prices for butadiene for a second time in seven days, this time by more than 5%, effective Monday, local end-users said.
With the latest price hike, PEIC's current selling price is Yuan 20,010/mt, or about $2,650/mt on an import parity basis, up Yuan 1,000/mt, or more than 5%, from Yuan 19,010/mt on July 3.
Among the factors cited for the higher prices were tight supply and planned maintenance.
On August 1, the company plans to shut a 100,000 mt/year butadiene extraction line and a 25,000 mt/year line in eastern Liaoning province, to conduct a scheduled 20-day maintenance program.
PEIC is a subsidiary of the Liaoning Huajin Chemical Industry Group.
